We are delighted to announce the fifth in our series of TA Roadshow events, with more to follow throughout the UK soon! Three wonderful professional and parent speakers will be sharing their knowledge, experience, and simple nutritional tools to help improve negative autism behaviours and symptoms and make a positive difference to your child’s health and quality of life. Only £10 including lunch (FREE to TA members or those who join on the day).
The Programme:
Nutrition for Autism (The Bio-Medical Approach), by Diana Wright
A nutritious diet is a key element in improving health and behaviour of individuals on the autism spectrum. Appropriate food choices and informed use of supplements can be helpful in addressing such issues as sleep, digestion, mood and behaviour, leading to a better quality of life of people with autism and their families.

Behavioural Optometry for Autism, by Smita Trivedi, Behavioural Optometrist, B.Sc.(Hons), McOptom.DCLP
Many children with autism have good eyesight, but poor vision – the ability to process incoming visual information and obtain meaning from it. A vision problem can have an impact on motor development which in turn can affect social and communication skills. Smita will discuss the importance of detailed evaluation to identify and treat underlying visual difficulties, and how optometric vision therapy can help to improve visual skills in autism.

Treating Autism is a Journey – One Family’s Story
Nina is a mum of a 21yr old severely affected by autism, severe gastrointestinal and sensory issues. She will share some of her experiences, including tips on implementing a clean diet and increasing variety of foods with picky eaters, and her belief that there is no limit to what our kids can accomplish with the right support.

There will tea and coffee with snacks throughout the day. During the last hour we will offer lunch (included in the price, free to members) and there will be an opportunity for chatting informally to our speakers, TA team and other parents.
This event is aimed at parents new to autism and at those with more experience. If you know a family that could benefit from the information, please be sure to share these details with them.
The Roadshow is free for Treating Autism members (please book online and you will receive a full refund after you attend the event). Your members includes your family, so you can bring a family member or a friend free of charge.
We would like to thank the Big Lottery for funding our charity and enabling us to continue to support our community of parents. We would also like to thank our event sponsor Mandi Mart for enabling us to provide a much-needed socializing opportunity for parents that will follow the presentations.
